"Breaking new ground for young people in care: Our revolutionary approach connects the charity sector and care system to provide real homes, and offer opportunities for healing and growth, paving the way for better futures."

Currently, the majority of supported accommodation providers are for-profit businesses and are not fit for the well-being of young people in care. We started Lasting Support Homes to build dream homes for young people aged 16-17 so that they can live in a house designed for all their needs.

We apply an evidence-based approach to ensure that everything from the policies, physical environment, language and approach is trauma-informed. We understand the hardship it takes to end up in the social care system and respect children’s right to express their mental health concerns including trauma. Our home is designed to be therapeutic, calming, and nonclinical because our residents deserve a safe and non-institutional approach in their care journey.

Young people in care often do not benefit from projects and services available in the charity sector because of the information & access gap. We aim to bridge the gap between the care and the non-profit sector by targeting all its provisions specifically for young people in care and care leavers.

Our work not only supports the young people directly in our care but also provides bespoke support for all young people care through our funded programmes & referral partnerships.

Our homes will prepare young people for the future and provide them with the comfortable & safe home they deserve.

41% of young people in care are not in education, training or employment. Our home is going to address this massive social inequality vulnerable young people are facing. Lasting Support Homes is a movement designed to redefine supported accommodations.

Our in-house programmes include safeguarding, anti-violence, mental health, physical health, skills workshops, career & education planning and more. A home should provide everything young people need and our organisation exists just to do that. We are created to provide holistic support for young people in care and help them move beyond the difficult childhood experiences they faced.

What we do
(and do well)

Support young people in care to thrive and build themselves safe & happy lives.

“By creating this home, we are championing every professional working in the social care sector to create services with children’s wellbeing in mind. Children in care deserve holistic support to be safe and happy.”

- Warda Mohamed, Founder & CEO of Lasting Support Homes

Understand young people in care need a comfortable & safe home with holistic support and safeguarding specialists looking after them.

We started our dream of providing safe and comfortable supported accommodation in London and our vision is to be available UK-wide for all children in care aged 16-17.

You can be a part of our journey and help us create sustainable support lines for young people in care.

We exist to support children in care to reach their full potential.

We care about creating lasting change for children in care and we can do that by providing a home with support and learning opportunities at the most critical times of their lives - right before they become adults. From our experience of working with children in care aged 16-17, we understand support must be provided for every aspect of their lives for young people to be able to grow into confident adults with safe & happy lives.
